Intermittent extract fan
Domestic Ventilation Compliance Guide, 2010 Edition (with 2011 amendments), published by the Department for Communities and Local Government in July 2011, defines an intermittent extract fan as: ‘… a mechanical ventilator that does not run all the time, usually only running when there is a particular need to remove pollutants or water vapour (e.g. during cooking or bathing). Intermittent operation may be under either manual control or automatic control.’
